Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 4, 2026 · Last updated: April 26, 2026
The short version: BogeyHunter processes your swing data and scoring data entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server. Your data is yours.
Scope: This policy covers all apps published by And Beyond Apps, LLC. under the BogeyHunter umbrella. Sections 1–6 below describe the BogeyHunter coaching platform (Coach Mulligan’s desktop and iPhone app). Section 11 below covers BogeyHunter — The Tracker, a separate scorecard / KPI / tee-time app. Sections 7–10 (third parties, children’s privacy, retention, your rights) and Section 13 (contact) apply to all of the above.
And Beyond Apps, LLC. ("we", "us", "our") publishes the BogeyHunter family of applications (collectively, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information each app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
BogeyHunter is designed as a local-first application. The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted externally:
- Swing video recordings and camera feed
- Biomechanical analysis metrics (rotation angles, tempo, and more)
- AI coaching conversations with Coach Mulligan
- Golfer profile information (name, handicap, equipment, physical notes)
- Practice history, drill logs, and coaching plan progress
- Round scores and course history
- Club distances and bag configuration
- Launch monitor data from connected devices (e.g., GSPro, Uneekor)
2. On-Device AI Processing
BogeyHunter runs its AI models entirely on your device using your local hardware (CPU, GPU, or Apple Neural Engine). No swing data, coaching conversations, or personal information is sent to cloud AI services. The AI coach operates without an internet connection.
3. Camera and Microphone Access
Camera: The App requests camera access to capture swing video for biomechanical analysis. Video frames are processed in real-time on your device and are not recorded permanently unless you explicitly save a session. No video data is transmitted off-device.
Microphone: The App requests microphone access for voice-to-text input when speaking to Coach Mulligan. Speech recognition is performed on-device using Apple's built-in speech framework. No audio data is transmitted off-device.
4. Location Data
The iOS version of BogeyHunter requests location access to identify nearby golf courses for on-course mode. Location data is used only for local course lookup and is never transmitted externally. You may deny location access and manually select a course instead.
5. Network Connections
BogeyHunter makes the following limited network requests:
- Golf course data: When using on-course mode, the App may query a third-party golf course API to retrieve course layout information (hole yardages, par, hazards). These requests contain only a course identifier or geographic coordinates — no personal data is included.
- No analytics or tracking: The App does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash reporting services, or usage telemetry.
6. Data Storage
All user data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms (app sandbox, UserDefaults). Data is protected by iOS file-level encryption, which is active whenever your device is locked with a passcode or biometric authentication.
We do not have access to any data stored on your device. If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently removed.
7. Third-Party Services
BogeyHunter does not share data with third-party services for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes. The only external service accessed is a golf course data API, which receives no personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
BogeyHunter does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation and stores no data on external servers.
9. Data Retention
Because all data resides on your device, you have full control over retention. You can delete your golfer profile, coaching history, and all stored data at any time through the App's settings. Uninstalling the App removes all data permanently.
10. Your Rights
BogeyHunter is fully on-device software with no servers, no accounts, and no external data collection. Your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it using built-in sharing features (progress cards, swing reports, share links). When you share, the data goes directly from your device to the recipient you choose. Traditional data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are inherently fulfilled. You may delete the App at any time to remove all data.
11. BogeyHunter — The Tracker (separate app)
Scope: Sections 11.1–11.8 below cover BogeyHunter — The Tracker, a separate product from And Beyond Apps, LLC. The Tracker is a golf scorecard, KPI dashboard, and tee-time hunter (a cadence-bounded aggregator of public tee-sheet availability that deep-links you to the course’s own booking site). It does not log in to booking sites on your behalf, does not place reservations, and does not capture or analyze swing video. It is published by the same company under the BogeyHunter umbrella and is also covered by Sections 7–10 above (third parties, children’s privacy, retention, your rights), which apply uniformly to all And Beyond Apps products.
11.1 Local-First by Design
The Tracker has no sign-up, no account system, and no backend service. Round data, scorecards, KPI history, friend records, and photos used for scorecard OCR are stored on your device only. The Tracker does not store passwords for any third-party booking site — the Tee Time Hunter reads public tee-sheet pages and deep-links you out to book on the course’s own site. We do not have access to any data stored on your device.
11.2 Information The Tracker Does Not Collect
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to any server operated by And Beyond Apps:
- Round scores, hole-by-hole stats, and putts
- Fairways hit, miss directions, GIR, scrambling, sand saves, up-and-downs, and club off the tee
- Names and round history of playing partners (“frequent friends”) you choose to track
- Photos of paper scorecards used for OCR (discarded after recognition)
- Watched-course list and Tee Time Hunter filters (dates, time windows, party size)
- Trend narratives generated by the bundled on-device LLM
- Per-course history and course-fit recommendations
11.3 On-Device AI
The Tracker bundles an on-device language model inside the desktop installer. Inference runs locally on your CPU or any auto-detected GPU. The model writes short narrative summaries about your stats. The model never transmits data over the network, never “phones home,” and is never used to compute KPIs — classical statistics handles all numeric work. Component-level open-source attributions are listed at Credits & Attributions.
11.4 Camera, Microphone, and Photos
iPhone companion: The Tracker requests Camera and Photo Library access for the photo-to-scorecard OCR feature. Recognition runs on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. Source photos are discarded after recognition completes. No images are uploaded to any server. The Tracker does not request microphone access.
Desktop: The Tracker does not use cameras or microphones.
11.5 Network Connections
The Tracker makes the following network requests, and only these:
- Tee Time Hunter reads (desktop): the desktop makes scheduled HTTPS GET requests for the public tee-sheet pages of the courses you choose to watch. These requests carry your watched-course filter parameters (date, time window, party size). They do not carry booking-site credentials — the Tracker does not log in to booking sites and does not store booking-site passwords. There is no third-party relay.
- Click-out to book (desktop → browser): when you tap an open slot, the Tracker hands you off to the course’s own booking site in your default browser to complete the reservation. From that point on, the booking flow is between you and the course; the Tracker is not in the loop.
- Apple Push Notification service (desktop → iPhone): the desktop sends signed APNs requests to Apple to update a read-only Live Activity on your paired iPhone with new-slot summaries. Pushes originate from your desktop, not from a third-party server. The payload contains slot-availability summaries and Live Activity tokens — no scoring data, no personal information, and no booking-site credentials.
- Course catalog (optional): a one-time or on-demand download of bundled golf course data (OpenStreetMap-sourced; see Credits for the ODbL attribution). No personal data is included in this request.
- LAN sync (no internet): iPhone ↔ desktop sync runs over your home Wi-Fi, signed and verified end-to-end. This traffic never leaves the LAN.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs.
11.6 Local Data Storage
Desktop: Round data lives on your machine in a local database, encrypted at rest using AES-256 (see Encryption for the full crypto profile). The Tracker does not maintain a credentials vault — there is no master password and no stored booking-site passwords, because the Hunter does not log in to booking sites on your behalf.
iPhone: Round data is stored in the app sandbox. iOS file-level encryption (Data Protection) protects this data whenever the device is locked.
11.7 Friends and Head-to-Head Records
The Tracker lets you record names of playing partners and accumulate scoring history with each over time. This is single-user-perspective tracking — like a paper handicap card you keep on your friends. There is no authenticated “friend account,” no friend-sharing API, no social graph, and no server that knows about your friends. The data lives on your device only. If a friend asks you to remove their record, delete it from the app and it is gone.
11.8 Your Rights (Tracker)
Because The Tracker is fully on-device with no server, no account, and no external data collection, traditional data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are inherently fulfilled. You can:
- Export rounds and scorecards as JSON or CSV at any time
- Delete individual rounds, friends, or your entire dataset from app settings
- Uninstall the desktop app or iPhone app to remove all data permanently
There is nothing on any server to delete — because there is no server.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we introduce any feature that collects data beyond what is described here, we will notify users through the App before the feature is enabled.
