About BogeyHunter

The BogeyHunter coaching platform is an AI-powered golf coaching platform available as an iOS mobile app and a Windows desktop application. Both surfaces analyze golf swing mechanics, provide coaching feedback through an AI golf instructor (Coach Mulligan), and run entirely on the user’s device. The mobile app additionally offers GPS-based on-course yardage and voice coaching through AirPods.

BogeyHunter — The Tracker is a separate app (also iOS + desktop) focused on scorecards, KPI dashboards, and a Tee Time Hunter (a cadence-bounded aggregator of public tee-sheet availability that deep-links the user to the course’s own booking site). The Tracker does not capture or analyze swing video. Like the coaching platform, it runs entirely on the user’s device.

The content rating applies equally to all apps in the family. The Apple App Store 4+ classification details below reflect the iOS app submission requirements for both apps.

Content Rating Criteria (Apple App Store)

The following table details BogeyHunter's content against Apple's age rating categories. The same content standards apply to the desktop platform.

AI-Generated Content (Both Platforms)

BogeyHunter includes an AI coaching feature (Coach Mulligan) that generates text responses based on the golfer's swing data and questions. The AI model runs entirely on-device on both platforms and is specifically fine-tuned for golf instruction. Content safeguards include:

• The model is trained exclusively on expert golf coaching methodology and published biomechanical research.
• System-level instructions constrain all responses to golf coaching topics.
• The AI does not generate content outside the domain of golf instruction, swing analysis, course strategy, and equipment guidance.
• No user-to-user communication or social features are present in the app.

Camera and Microphone Usage

Mobile: The app uses the iPhone camera to capture swing video for analysis and the microphone for voice-to-text input with Coach Mulligan. All processing occurs on-device. No images, video, or audio are transmitted, stored on external servers, or shared with third parties.

Desktop: The desktop platform uses external USB cameras to capture swing video for biomechanical analysis. Video is processed and stored locally on the user's machine. An optional microphone enables voice input to Coach Mulligan. No camera or audio data leaves the local machine.

Location Data

Mobile: The app requests location access to identify nearby golf courses when using on-course mode. Location data is used locally for distance calculations and is never transmitted to external servers. Location access is optional and not required for core app functionality.

Desktop: The desktop platform does not use location data.

Purchases and Advertising (Both Platforms)

• In-app purchases: None at this time.
• Advertising: The app contains no advertising of any kind.
• Third-party tracking: The app includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

User Accounts and Social Features (Both Platforms)

• Neither platform requires account creation or sign-in.
• There are no social features, messaging, forums, or user-generated content visible to other users.
• Golfer profile data is stored locally on the user's device only.
• The desktop platform supports multiple golfer profiles on the same machine, each with separate data.

BogeyHunter — The Tracker (separate app)

BogeyHunter — The Tracker is a separate product from the BogeyHunter coaching platform, published by the same company under the BogeyHunter umbrella. It focuses on scoring, KPIs, and tee-time booking. The 4+ rating applies for the same reasons as the coaching platform: no violence, no sexual content, no profanity, no substance references, no horror, no mature themes, no medical advice, no unrestricted web access. The full table above applies unchanged to The Tracker.

App-specific notes for The Tracker:

• AI-generated content (Tracker): The Tracker bundles a small on-device language model that writes short narrative summaries about your golf statistics. The model never computes a KPI itself — classical statistics handles all numeric work. System-level prompting constrains the model to golf-statistics-narrative outputs. Component-level open-source attributions are listed at Credits & Attributions.
• Camera (Tracker): The iPhone companion uses the camera only for photo-to-scorecard OCR — recognizing numbers on a paper scorecard via Apple’s on-device text recognition. Source images are discarded after recognition. No images are uploaded.
• Microphone (Tracker): The Tracker does not request microphone access on either iOS or desktop.
• Location (Tracker): The Tracker uses bundled course data for course selection (OpenStreetMap attribution at Credits). It may request coarse location to surface nearby courses; this is local-only and never transmitted.
• Push notifications (Tracker): The iPhone companion receives read-only Live Activity notifications summarizing new openings the desktop’s Tee Time Hunter has surfaced across your watched courses. Pushes originate from your own paired desktop, not from a third-party server.
• Tee Time Hunter (Tracker, desktop only): The desktop reads public tee-sheet pages of courses you choose to watch on a scheduled basis and surfaces what’s open. It does not log in to booking sites, does not store booking-site passwords, and does not place reservations on your behalf — selecting a slot opens the course’s own booking site for you to complete the booking. This is a utility feature, not a content feature, and contains no objectionable elements.
• In-app purchases (Tracker): None at this time.
• Advertising (Tracker): None.
• Third-party tracking (Tracker): None — no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• User accounts and social features (Tracker): None. No sign-in, no social graph, no friend-sharing API. “Frequent friend” records are single-user-perspective tracking on the device only.
• Gambling (Tracker): None. The Tracker does not feature wagering, contests of chance, or any gambling mechanics. The Tee Time Hunter is a scheduling-discovery utility, not a contest.

Parental Guidance

BogeyHunter is designed for golfers of all ages. All content across both platforms is entirely focused on golf instruction and is appropriate for children, provided they have the physical ability to swing a golf club. No parental controls are necessary as BogeyHunter contains no objectionable content, no internet browsing capability, no social interaction, and no purchasing mechanisms.
